Maple Glazed Salmon

Baked Alaska Salmon Fillets with Maple Sauce

One 8- to 10-ounce salmon fillet

? teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup pure maple syrup

1 clove garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon grated fresh peeled ginger

1 onion, sliced

1 lemon

Preheat the oven to 450°F.

In a small bowl mix together the pepper, maple syrup, garlic, soy sauce, and ginger. While waiting for the oven to reach temperature, place the salmon fillet in a dish skin side UP, and cover with the sauce. You can keep the salmon in this marinade for up to 25 minutes. When the oven is ready, place the salmon skin side down on a pre-soaked cedar or alder plank. If you don’t have a plank, you can simply place the salmon fillets in a casserole dish, skin side down. Spread the sauce over the salmon. Place sliced onion over the top and squeeze lemon. Bake for 10 minutes per ½ inch of the fillet.
